Then they restock and I buy again.

This last time I didn't receive a cancellation on either and they remained in stock for a while

So fingers crossed!

If there is something you've missed, check back often... they restock a lot!

I'll post an update when I get the items in to review and let everyone know what I'm keeping or not!

Today's post is about bucket lists!

For a while, I've had a small little list in my head

7) Camp on Shackelford Banks

8) Spend the Night in a Tree House

9) Go to a Drive In Movie

10) Have a "yes" Day

11) See the Great Pyramids

12) Go on an African Safari

13) Visit all of the Seven Wonders of the World

23) Finish my MBA

... To Be continued

As I've mentioned, my mom and step father have a house in Beaufort, NC.

Normally I'd avoid the beach at all costs on Memorial Day.

Having been from the coast, I know the beaches are packed like sardines.

But since my mom got the house we've been making it an annual trip.

Mostly because we go out on the boat instead so it's not really PACKED out there.

This year with the impending storm we thought we'd just be playing rummy cube all weekend...

The sunset on our first night was breathtaking as usual

We quickly packed, thinking we'd only have a couple hours on the water, and left for Shackelford Banks

There were a couple people there when we arrived but overall it was pretty empty

My handsome husband pulled the boat closer to shore!

We even explored this end of the island

Neither of us had ever parked a boat that far down.

We found a cemetery from the 1800s

And we eventually made our way back...

Robert even agreed to take a picture with me

We didn't end up leaving the water until close to 7PM and it didn't rain on us at all!

How did you spend Memorial Weekend?

ASOS is having their summer sale

And these items are up to 70% off!

You can shop the sale here.

I've made a short list of some items that I've been eyeing that are included in the sale:

1) Iska Printed Dress With Zip Pockets

Top: Lilly Pulitzer Elsa (Similar)

Their cocktail menu doesn't disappoint!

I got the sugar cookie martini (pictured on the bottom).

They serve Tapas, Small Plates, and Big Plates but even the smaller dishes are more than satisfying!

I ordered a Caesar salad (with their AMAZING homemade anchovy tapenade)

and the Crab and Pineapple Napoleon

(lump blue crab, grilled pineapple, pimento cheese, kiwi-pineapple gastrique, summer greens).

I'm really having a hard time not going back for it on my next trip.

Beaufort, NC also has a taxi service that's amazing called Carteret Cab Company!

We use them every time we are celebrating in downtown Beaufort.

We woke up to a beautiful day.

This is mom's back yard.

Ever since moving to Raleigh, I've really missed the abundance of water I grew up around...

A beautiful day calls for a day on the water!

Suit: Mara Hoffman Lattice Maillot One Piece Swim Suit (Different Print, Different Print)

Can we just talk about how obsessed I am with this Mara Hoffman suit (made famous by Mindy Kaling)

Too bad I can't wear it every time I go to the beach!

My husband went back to see his mom and my step-dad had to go back to tend to his business

So mom and my brother and I went to Queen Anne's Revenge and had pizza!

This was our view as we were leaving.

Another favorite of mine for pizza is No Name Pizza & Subs!

I took Monday off too so the next morning mom and I took a walk around her neighborhood.

We went to my favorite beach access in Atlantic Beach for the rest of the day.

I'd tell you exactly where it is, but then I'd have to kill you...

Overall it was a nice and relaxing couple of days.

How did you spend mother's day?

Last year we celebrated a mostly Vegan Cinco De Mayo as a farewell to two of our dear friends who were moving to Denver, CO

You can read more about that (and the cleaning/ redoing of our deck decor) here.

This year, we are skipping the Mexican celebrations and going to one of our favorite restaurants (Relish)!

This change in plans got me thinking about writing a post about my latest food loves.

It's been a busy month of April

My work and Robert's work has gotten busier

We've traveled for engagement parties, bachelor parties, and just because

But we have made some time to stop at some new, and old favorite, places to eat.

So today's post is dedicated to what I'm loving lately:

Carolina Bagel Company & Deli
New Bern, NC

I had heard so much about this place, I'm not sure why it took me so long to go.
While my husband played it safe with a "What a Classy Hen"
I branched out a little and got the "Orange Speckled Chabo".
Like Carolina Bagel, this place is small so be prepared to wait!
Read more about their amazing offerings here.

Relish Café & Bar
Raleigh, NC

I am so shocked I don't have a single picture of any food from this place.
And regardless of food... I don't even have a picture of my favorite Raspberry Lemon Drop martini but probably because I am so focused on the food I forget.
Who has time for insta with that spread in front of you?
This is the restaurant we take out-of-towners when they visit us.
They have mac and cheese skillets, fried pimento cheese fritters dipped in hot pepper jelly, amazing shrimp and grits, and a martini selection to have you calling Uber just to try them all.
Read more about my dinner plans tonight here.

Busy Bee Cafe
Raleigh, NC

I hope you plan on trying one (or all) of these soon!
