My mom, step-dad, brother, dad, and (the lady who might has well be my second mom) Wanda all took their seats in Dabney, the building I had my first science class, CH 101.

Dr. Knopp (our undergraduate advisor and first BCH class teacher) gave a speech about how awesome we all are for making it this far. AND THEN HE QUOTED MY RESEARCH PAPER!!!

Then all 20 ish of us including the master's and Ph.D students filed across the stage front of the classroom and got our empty diploma covers because they don't have those out until we've been "cleared" in January. 

We made it!

Family met outside for some photos

(promise my family loves me more but most of the photos are on my moms computer and only Lord and Savior sweet baby Jesus knows when she will get around to getting them off...)

The family (except for my dad) went back to the apartment

Hung out, ate some snacks, and opened presents

(one of which my kitchen aid mixer mwuahahahahah)

Friday Confessional

This Friday I confess...

That I'm more excited to move into a new apartment than I am about graduation. As mentioned previously I look terribly in red and our robes are RED. That's right, capital and underline RED. Boo. And its cold outside. And I have to wear heels in the brickyard (flats in the brickyard are dangerous). 

But I confess that the color choice didn't keep me from bedazzling my cap!

And made some themed cupcakes for tomorrows festivities.

I confess that I have face-timed my kittens twice this week. TWICE.

And I might be a crazy cat lady but my dad and brother both helped.

Enablers. 

I confess I am the worst daughter on the face of the planet.

I realized that in the 10 years since my parents got divorced

I may have stayed with my mom on Christmas eve once.

ONCE.

So this year I'm choosing to stay with her.

Not that it makes up for anything but it's the least I could do.

I confess that I feel so guilty complaining about all of this when there are families who have lost their children and parents today in the shootings in the Connecticut school.

And then Robert just came in and said

"It's so close to Christmas,

their parents probably already bought them Christmas presents..."

Breaks my heart that people can be this evil.

Prayers go up to everyone effected on this sad day

7 months from today, the 13th

will be 7-13

my wedding date

(Today is important because of that

and also because I just finished my last exam

GO ME.)

So back to weddings...

Again not a lot extra has been done

I worked on some crafts for my bridesmaids gifts

I booked a DJ

and I picked an exact location for my ceremony

Still left to do in the next month:

-reserve tents for ceremony and reception

-figure out arrangement so I can figure out how many centerpieces I need to make

-Send save the dates

And probably a million other things.

Then I found some interesting news

My step-sister is getting married in 4 months (exactly 3 before me)

And my mom was trying to send me the name/style of her mother's "mother of the bride dress" so she could ask me what she should wear... well she accidentally sent me the name/style of my step sisters wedding dress

And wouldn't you know it?

Its probably the closest dress I've ever seen to mine

Without being mine.

Seriously?

It's a little more full at the bottom

And the neckline is slightly different

and the "belt" or in her case jewel belted area is in a different location

But same back

Same fabric

So freaking close it's unreal

And where in the last 6 months

has my mom just forgotten to show her my dress

so this kind of thing doesn't happen?

The only thing that makes me okay with this situation is the fact that I prefer my neckline on my body and that our bodies are so different that even the same dress wouldn't look the same.

Still I was talking to my mom about it on the phone

And when I got off Robert looked at me and said

"Now when I see her dress first I'll know what yours looks like"

So I ruined that.

Sort of.

Oh well!

Happy 7 months to be to me and Robert!

Happy 12-12-12

The triple number dates will never happen again

well at least in my lifetime. 

Also something today that will never happen again in my lifetime...

Today is the last study day for an undergraduate exam.

Tomorrow morning I take my last exam of my undergrad career

And it feels so good.

I don't see these college years as the best of my life

They better not be.

I also have to confess that I opted out of taking my optional final yesterday.

I killed my first exam due to good preparation and lots of studying

But I put off studying for my 2nd exam

And by the time I did...

It was obvious that there was no pulling my grade up

So I just didn't go

And no shits were given.

And two weeks into exam week

AND STILL NOT DONE

My brain has given up.

This is what I did instead:

Yeah yeah we are basically old and married.

20 days until Christmas!!

Well I am and I apologize for being a

Cotton headed ninny muggins

I wasn't actually moving for long.

Took about 30 minutes to drive a mile.

A wreck and a flat tire in the right lane

Really puts a damper on traffic flow.

All in all, I had a great weekend

I really enjoyed girl time.

But it made me realize how much I miss Jennifer.

Hopefully we can visit soon.
